President Donald J. Trump was born in a Queens, NY house that just sold for almost twice it’s actual value. Built by his father, Fred Trump in 1940, the 2,000 square foot tudor style home was sold last December – before the inauguration – to a real estate speculator.
At the time, Michael J. Davis of Wareham Holdings LLC, paid $1.39 million for the Jamaica Estates property before Trump was inaugurated.
Davis just flipped the house to a mystery buyer for $2.14 million – which equals a 50% profit on the investment. The new owner took title to the house under the name Trump Birth House LLC.
“This property is so much more than just real estate,” Paramount Realty USA broker Misha Haghani said. “Special properties are appropriately sold by auction, just like art is. As they say, beauty is truly in the eyes of the beholder.”
While on the campaign trail, talk show host Jimmy Fallon told Trump during an interview that the house was for sale. Fallon held up a photo of the modest sized home.
“Oh, that’s sad to look at that,” said Trump, adding “I want to buy it.”
When asked if he got into much trouble growing up in the home, Trump said “Not too much. My parents were very strict, very good and loving.”
